Busy, busy

I'd like to say I've been busy cleaning the trailer, but I've been busy crafting! Which is fun but takes up a lot of time from blogging. You know how it is when you have to buy supplies you thought you had enough of, drop everything and run to town, then its time to start the trips back and forth with the kids after school. whew! It can sure make a person tired and not want to finish the craft until the next day, then you think you'll check out some blogs and well...its a vicious cycle. I don't even want to tell you about my housecleaning chores! OK, here are some things I've been working on....my March Vintage Housewife tag
My son Nicholas was born in March 1994 and this tag is for his birthday memory. He was such a fun baby. Mostly because he has two older sisters and we loved playing with him and watching him grow. They would dress him up in their dresses and wigs and pull him around in a laundry basket. When Nick was a baby we started calling him Chubba Bubba because he had such chunky legs. Once he started growing we dropped the Chubba and just called him Bubba. When he started school he didn't want to be called Bubba anymore but there are times when he talks to babies or our pets and he will call himself Bubba and not even realize it. I could talk about him all day. Its hard to believe he will be 17 years old! He is a very active teenager and thats why it took us a little longer to teach him how to drive. He got his drivers license about a month ago and most days he drives pretty good. I sit behind him in the back seat. I have a tendency to still want to tell him to slow down and think he's driving too close to the bridge railings. It was so funny when we were practicing parallel parking. We couldn't find two cars to park between in town so we used a trash dumpster and a big A/C repair truck to park behind. I bet if people saw us they didn't know what to think?! What a sight!
I have my tags on my bookcase in the living room. I thought I'd get out my Kermit the frog and give him a leprechaun hat I made. We've had a St Patricks Day theme for Nick's birthday once but this year he just wants to go to Waco with a couple of friends to the movies. I got him an IPhone a couple of weeks ago as an early birthday present. His Dad will be coming home from Saudi Arabia on the 21st of March and is bringing him a watch with Arabic numbers on it. Nick will be in the One Act Play with school that night and hopefully will his Dad will be able to see him perform. Thats the plan...if the plane is not late. Here is a photo of some other crafts I've been working on. I ran out of paperclay and have to run get some more before I can finish. I got the ideas from Elizabeth's blog Bluebird Papercrafts/Creative Breathing. I just love her!
I gotta run....it takes about 30 minutes to get to Waco from here and I MUST get to Joanns or Michaels before TOMORROW! Thats when Spring Break starts and the kids have me going in all different directions. always fun with Aunt Kadra Louise

  3. Well you are new here I have not met you yet. I was looking at your tags on your book case and found it curious by the books were all turned with the spines to the back? Cute story on your son now 17 and driving a car. Keep up the good tag work and love to see more of that duck you're making. I need to make one myself as a blogging friend sent me the clay to do it with!!

  8. I love how your tag tells a story. My daughter is 17 and calls her older brother Bubba. It is her special name for him. When she was little she could not say big brother. It came out bubba and stuck. I wish you well in the driving venture, I am so glad that teaching part of my life is over.

  9. Boy can I relate to your busy life! My girls are grown and my oldest grandson is your son's age, but those days don't seem so long ago. My busy schedule didn't even skip a beat when we retired. Your tag is so cute. I love the chenille shamrock :)
